“We noticed a reduction in injuries once the signs were installed.
What we didn’t expect was that the greatest benefit from the signs
has come from using them (and the Health and Safety Manual) as a training
tool. Heads of departments are using the signs to demonstrate
good health and safety practice to new staff many of which have English
as their second language. The Heads of departments have asked
for flash cards to be developed as a result. Overall I feel more
comfortable that the Action Direction signs are creating a safer more

The signs are great! They are very useful when we are training new staff.
Because the girls can’t understand a lot of English we do
some role play to teach them about safety and then point to the signs
to show them what we mean.
